カナダはウィンタースポーツが盛んなことはもちろん、インドアでも手軽に遊べるレジャーがそろっている。 Midori: Winter in Canada is much longer and colder than Japan. Do Canadians go out in winter as much as they do in summer? Katie: Well, generally speaking people tend to stay indoors more in winter. But there are many people who still go out and enjoy nature. Midori: Give me some examples of how Canadians enjoy winter. Katie: Well, people might have parties with friends, go to the movies or the theatre, or exercise in community centres. Of course, we have wonderful winter resorts across Canada. Midori: You are right. If you are a skier or a now boarder, Canada is the place to be in winter. Katie: Winter sports is more than skiing and snow boarding in Canada. My favorite winter sport is skating. There are many places where you can skate out side in a natural environment in Canada. Imagine skating on a frozen lake under the moonlight. Isn't that romantic? Midori: Well yes! That would be very nice. Katie: There are many things to do inside during winter as well. We have facilities called community centres with indoor skating rinks, curling rinks, gyms and many have exercise rooms as well. Midori: That sounds wonderful! Where can I find a community centre? Is it expensive to use? Katie: Every community has at least one community centre and it is very reasonable. Admission is around $3.00 to $4.00 for each visit. Midori: That's great! Do you need a reservation? Katie: No. They have time tables for different programs. All you have to do is show up for the program you would like to enjoy. Midori: That is perfect. Can we go now? I would love to go for a swim. I will treat you to lunch afterwards.
